Rock legends AC/DC have announced a world tour coming this summer, eight years after their last.

Since forming in 1973, the band have recorded some of the greatest rock anthems of all time, including Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Whole Lotta Rosie.

It’s been nearly a decade since the band’s last proper tour, Rock Or Bust, which they performed in 2015 and 2016.

Now, the band announced their Power Up tour via X, unveiling details of where and when fans can expect to see them play this year.

The rock gods will be taking their latest tour, named after their 2020 album, to a whopping 11 countries across Europe from May to August this year.

Fans will be able to find AC/DC in Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France and Ireland this summer.

The line-up will consist of vocalist Brian Johnson, guitarists Angus and Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and Chris Chaney on bass.

Chaney will be stepping in for Cliff Williams, who retired in 2016 – aside from his brief return at last year’s Power Trip festival.

The line-up will also be absent founding member Malcolm Young, who died in 2017 and drummer Phil Rudd, who currently lives in New Zealand.

Former frontman Bon Scott died in 1980, while the band’s original drummer, Colin Burgess, died last December.

Exciting news for fans of classic rock – however, some fans were left disappointed at apparently being left out in the cold.

‘Disappointed American fans, where you at,’ commented @ONEWILDNIGHT below the band’s announcement.

‘You’re not touring England. You’re doing London. Do somewhere up north, do Manchester, Leeds, somewhere like that. Also, do Scotland,’ said @TheChrisWray.

‘Scotland is where the band’s heart is at. Why no Scotland?’ asked @Richard56830586.

Formed by Glasgow-born brothers Angus and Malcolm Young – along with fellow Scotsman Bon Scott – the band are often credited among some of the country’s greatest exports.

Emigrating to Australia as children, it was there that the band was founded – although it seems Power Up won’t be performing there either.

They were inducted into the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and placed 73rd in Rolling Stone’s 500 greatest albums of all time with Back In Black.

Tickets for Power Up go on sale February 16 from acdc.com. Those about to rock, we salute you.
