The whole performance showed similarities to the 2-0 win over Malta as the Three Lions lacked their normal fluency in the attack.
And as a result, England were only able to come out of the game with a 1-1 draw.
The result was enough to see England get themselves into the
SunSport have given the ratings for the England stars below…

On his captaincy debut, Walker helped control the backline.
He also got forward on occasion and offered an option to Bukayo Saka on the overlap.

Maguire looked the shakiest member of the backline and almost cost England a goal with his error in the first half.
Rico Lewis – 7

The decision seemed to add more life to the Man City prospect as he was determined to make amends.
Declan Rice – 6
A mixed showing from the Arsenal star.
Rice went close in the first half as he hit the post and linked up with play nicely.
However, he did appear to have some issues with the new turf at the Toše Proeski Arena.

Once again picked to play in a midfield three, the Liverpool star looked a threat.
He drew a good stop before halftime but struggled to create many chances.
Phil Foden – 6
Given the chance to impress in the number ten role against by Gareth Southgate.
He looked good at times but often was unable to find the right pass.

Saka was a bright spark for England on the right-wing and often posed a threat.
However, like the rest of the team lacked that cutting edge at times.
Jack Grealish 83′ – 6
A solid showing from Grealish out on the left-wing.
He was unlucky to have a goal ruled out for offside and did look like one of England’s more dangerous players.
Ollie Watkins 58′ – 4

Watkins was hoping for “excitement” before the game by was subbed off before the hour mark with only 11 touches of the ball.

Kane might have started on the bench, but he showed why he is so important to the team.

Cole Palmer 83′ – 6
Palmer was introduced late in place of Saka, but struggled to make a meaningful impression.
Marcus Rashford 83′ – 6
