Fred Sirieix lost his usually calm demeanour on Monday’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
The First Dates star is the first point of call for people looking for love on the popular dating show, and is known for his calm and friendly attitude.
But he lost his cool as he spoke to fellow I’m A Celeb contestant Nigel Farage in the campsite about – you can probably guess – Brexit.
The father-of-two is French and has lived in the UK for years, and was caught up in a heated discussion about the campaign to leave the EU with the former Ukip politician, who was one of the key players in the 2016 referendum.
He hit out at Farage for his party’s controversial poster at the time, which claimed Britain was at ‘breaking point’ with immigration by showing a queue of migrants with the slogan ‘the EU has failed us all’.
‘Brexit was about immigration, I remember your poster. I thought it was shameful what you did Nigel. Shameful,’ Fred said. The First Dates star clashed with Nigel Faarage at the campsite (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock) Farage stood by his controversial anti-immigration poster from the 2016 Brexit referendum (Picture: AFP via Getty Images)
Farage replied that his poster was ‘absolutely true. It was a poster showing mass young men moving illegally across borders.’
The maitre d’hotel insisted it was ‘demonising migrants,’ which Farage denied, saying that was just in Fred’s view – to which he said ‘it’s not just my view.’
Farage then declared that Brexit was only about being ‘in charge’ and ‘self-governing’.
‘We can get it right, we can make an absolute mess of it but we’re in charge and the people who make those decisions we can hire and fire at elections.’
Fred was having none of it, claiming the ‘average person in the UK has lost out because of what you’ve done.’Farage and Fred join the likes of Marvin Humes, Jamie Lynn Spears and Josie Gibson in the new series (Picture: ITV1/UNPIXS)
The fiery conversation came after Farage described former Prime Minister Boris Johnson as ‘entertaining in small doses’.
He said the former Conservative leader was ‘one of the most disorganised human beings that possible ever lives. The whole thing’s bloody chaos. Shambles.’
It didn’t take long for Farage to be mocked by his fellow campmates and even hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who teased that all two of GB News’ viewers would be missing him while he was in the jungle.
Meanwhile, Josie Gibson joked that their first trial in the jungle ‘can’t be worse than Brexit.’
I’m A Celeb returns at 9pm Tuesday night on ITV
