Alison Hammond has recalled one of her very best stories involving Paul Hollywood and his tiny Lamborghini.
The 48-year-old presenter remembered her first day hosting The Great British Bake Off – a role she took over from comedian Matt Lucas – while appearing on tonight’s The One Show.
While chatting to Roman Kemp and Alex Jones alongside fellow Bake Off host Noel Fielding, the This Morning star took us on a total journey.
Recalling the VIP treatment she received from bread-wizard judge Paul Hollywood on her first outing to the Bake Off hotel, when he gave her a lift in his Lamborghini.
‘On the first day he says, “Do you want a lift to the hotel?”‘ recalled Alison.
‘I said, “Oh great.” He had a really nice car, a bit of a Lamborghini.’ Like the Batmobile, according to Noel.

‘You had to lie down,’ Noel reminded Alison, who has clearly heard the hilarious story before.
‘[The car] was like on the floor. It was so unladylike, literally my legs were wide open,’ she explained with gestures between ruptures of laughter in the studio.
But just when we thought Alison’s entrance into Paul’s itty-bitty Lamborghini was the main event, she continued suddenly quite serious: ‘Let’s just say I will never do it again. It was the most frightening ride I’ve ever had in my life. It was so scary.’
Yikes. That doesn’t say too much about the 57 year old’s driving.

Amateur bakers are battling it out again to be crowned winner, going through various technical, signature, and show-stopper challenges.
The presenter’s foray into the Bake Off tent has been applauded by many viewers, and there’s already been some cracking moments one episode in.
But while Paul may be giving out a handshake or two for some expertly-risen loaf or fluffy cake, one thing’s for sure – Alison won’t be congratulating him on his driving abilities.
In fact, Alison has made it clear she is never getting into Paul’s Batmobile again.
The One Show airs on BBC1 at 7pm every weekday.
