WWE heavyweight Braun Strowman has undergone neck fusion surgery.
The former world champion hasn’t wrestled on screen since appearing on the May 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, and earlier this week there were reports he was out of action due to an injury.
The nature of his absence has now been confirmed after the Monster Among Men himself addressed his status.
He shared a video of his surgery for his followers on Instagram, showing the procedure as he revealed he is on the ‘road to recovery’.
He captioned the post: ‘Road to recovery starts now!!!!
‘Level one #fusion on my c4/c5 #vertebrae was in the great hands of #DrCordover at @andrews_sports_medicine was a great experience considering. The 39-year-old superstar admitted being told he needed surgery was ‘very scary’ and while he’s facing a ‘little bit of time’ out of action, he’s positive about his prospects.
He continued: ‘This was very scary to find out about having to have done and they were there every step of the way reassuring that I was going to have the best care possible. This will take a little bit of time to heal from.
‘But I assure you ( in the words of the #Terminator ) I’ll be back!!!! Thank you all in advance for the well wishes. (sic)’

Before his absence, Braun had been paired up with high flyer Ricochet in the tag ranks, with their most recent marquee match coming as part of the WrestleMania Showcase, which was won by the Street Profits and also featured Alpha Academy and The Viking Raiders.
Although his partner is out of action, Ricochet has started to rebuild some momentum, qualifying for the upcoming Money In The Bank Ladder Match – which will take place on July 1 at The O2 in London – at the expense of The Miz.
