Forget whipped feta, brie is the latest cheese to get an airy update.

Following on from butter boards and custard toast, whipped brie is the latest trend on TikTok – and it could change your charcuterie board game forever.

Firstly, soften the ingredients to room temperature, then remove the rind and blend the cheese in a food processor until it’s smooth.

And there you have it – an impressive spreadable and salty dinner party plate.

However, it’s fair to say the latest trend isn’t going down well with cheesemongers.

This is because creating the famous soft rind in brie takes cheesemakers around two weeks to perfect – all made under specialist conditions, according to the New England Cheesemaking Supply Company.

Emma Harvey, a cheese buyer at City Market South End in Burlington, Vermont, told Allrecipes: ‘There are flavors and notes present in the rind that differs from the paste of the cheese.

‘So please, as a monger I beg you, don’t just throw the rind away.’

Elsewhere in the world of bizarre TikTok trends, people are blending up dried spaghetti to make ‘pasta dough’ – here’s our verdict on it.
