School aged children across the north-east are being offered the chance to spend the summer holidays taking part in a program of fun activities being organised by International School Aberdeen (ISA).
ISA has launched its 12th annual School’s Out Summer Camp with enrolment now open to children aged six to 16 years.
The camp will run from Monday, July 17 to Friday, August 11 and welcomes children and young people from all over the north-east who can join for one, two, three or all four weeks.
All activities at the all-inclusive, four-week summer camp will be held at ISA’s campus on North Deeside Road with facilities including a swimming pool, climbing wall, double wide games hall, dance studio, theatre, tennis courts, turfed football pitches, kitchen and art studio.
Children can take part in a number of activities at the summer camp including the climbing wall.School’s Out is one of the most popular summer camps in the area for local children with the focus on fun and active learning while giving kids the chance to reconnect with their peers and enjoy a range of outdoor and indoor activities.
An exciting new addition to this year’s camp will be pizza making on Italian wood fired ovens. Outdoor activities will feature heavily on this year’s camp agenda with children encouraged to explore the natural surroundings of ISA’s campus filled with green learning spaces to ignite imagination and encourage exploration.
Other activities on this year’s line-up include indoor rock climbing, poolside surfing and kayaking, basketball, badminton, gymnastics, judo, swimming, football, art, dance and drama, as well as the ever-popular circus skills sessions designed to get kids active as a group and practice new skills including unicycling, juggling and stilt walking.
ISA’s PE teacher Mark DeGraw said: "School’s Out is an ideal way for children to build self-confidence and discover new and diverse interests in a safe and caring environment.
“With summer just around the corner, we know families are beginning to think about child care in the holidays and their options for keeping their children engaged and having fun throughout the summer.
“Our enthusiastic team of teachers and support staff help transform the school holidays into an action-packed time of adventure for all ages.
“The beauty of School’s Out is that it all takes place within the school, there is no busing required for all the key activities with everything right on campus – we are fully equipped.
“With our fantastic line-up of activities, children can connect to the world around them through screen-free, active experiences and hands-on activities.
“There is truly something for every child no matter their strengths or interests.”
