Olly Murs has said he’d be ‘honoured’ to sing at King Charles III’s coronation in May.

The hitmaker, 38, also revealed he has two songs in mind for the ceremony, if he were selected to perform on the day.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, the former X Factor star was quizzed about performing at the royal bash and Olly could barely stop smiling while talking about the prospect.

Susanna Reid asked the Dear Darlin’ hitmaker: ‘Are you going to be performing at the King’s coronation?’ to which he replied: ‘I’m here if needed.’

Olly added: ‘I’m on tour, the dates work, so if the royals need me, I’m around. Lots of artists would be honoured to be singing, so it would be amazing.’

‘I’d love to see the royals [dancing to] Dance With Me Tonight, that’d be lovely,’ the star said with a grin, adding: ‘Bit of Troublemaker.’

Susanna then joked: ‘There’s some songs you might wanna avoid,’ prompting Olly to burst into giggles.

King Charles III’s coronation will take place on May 6 and is the first ceremony of its kind since 1953, when Charles’ mother Queen Elizabeth II was crowned.

The King acceded the throne on September 8, 2022, upon the death of his mother – but it is traditional for a full ceremony to be held a significant time later as a mark of respect to the late monarch.

In addition to the day of the coronation, Buckingham Palace has announced a special Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle, which will air on the BBC on Sunday, May 7.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
