Alexa Bliss has fired back at fans after cruel abuse following reports she is taking a break from WWE.

The former women’s champion – who lost to Bianca Belair in a Raw Women’s Title match at the Royal Rumble last month before being targeted by the sinister Uncle Howdy – has urged people to not believe speculation about her future unless they hear it from her.

She tweeted: ‘Don’t believe things you read. Unless it comes directly from me… it’s not real lol.’

The comment came after PWInsider reported that Alexa was ‘taking a bit of a break’ from WWE and hadn’t been at any shows since the Rumble, claiming that her apparent hiatus was ‘not injury-related’.

It was speculated that the break may not be just ‘storyline-dictated’, although the report did suggest that WWE new Bliss would be taking time off following her loss to Belair.

As well as appearing to shrug off the report itself, the 31-year-old star also revealed she has received abuse from trolls commenting on the rumours about her future.

Before her post urging people not to believe anything that doesn’t come from her, she tweeted: ‘“Good shes boring anyway”. “Hopefully she’s gone for good”. “She doesn’t care anymore”

‘Y’all don’t know what you’re even talking about. #StayToxicMyFriends’.

Bliss hasn’t offered any further comment on the report or when she’ll be back on television.

Unfortunately, dealing with trolls is nothing new for the wrestler, who has been open in the past about how difficult it can be.

Last year, she exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I agree that everyone should have the right to speak their opinion. But when you talk about us as human beings, people, and not our characters, that’s where the line stops and I don’t feel like that’s okay.’
